Inside This Wazdan Interview

Wazdan has turned October into Cointober, a month-long campaign around its Coins series that runs from October 1 to November 3, opening with 25 Coins x3000 and closing with 36 Coins x3000. We asked Oliwia Skrzydel, Account Manager at Wazdan, why the studio built a month around one series. We also asked how a franchise of more than 30 titles stays fresh and what players and operators can expect heading into 2027. The answers also cover Big Screen Mode, adjustable volatility and the next network-wide Seasonal Drop promotion. This interview sits alongside the rest of the industry coverage in Publications on GamblerID.

Key Takeaways from the Interview
- Cointober gives the Coins™ series a moment of its own instead of treating each new release as a separate launch.
- Each Coins™ game keeps the series identity but brings its own maths, features, pacing and themes.
- Big Screen Mode and adjustable volatility are the kind of technology that works quietly in the background.
- Wazdan plans the month as a sequence of different releases and surprises tied together by one idea.
- Heading into 2027, the studio promises more variety: developed series, new concepts and more promotional tools around the games.
Cointober and the Coins Series
Cointober gives one series a full month. The first two questions cover why Wazdan chose that format and how a franchise of more than 30 standalone titles keeps each Coins™ game distinct.
Cointober runs October 1 to November 3, opening with 25 Coins x3000 and closing with 36 Coins x3000. What was the thinking behind building a month-long campaign around one series instead of spreading focus across the wider portfolio?
Cointober lets us take players through the series over the course of a month, with different games bringing their own features, mathematics and visual style. There is a clear family resemblance between the titles, but each one has something different to discover.
For us, that is what makes the idea interesting: players who already know the series get several new experiences to explore, while those discovering Coins™ for the first time can see how varied it has become.

The Coins series started in 2022 and has grown past 30 standalone titles. How do you keep a franchise that size feeling fresh to players and operators, rather than just "another coin game"?
That is one of the most important things for us. Familiarity can be a strength, but only if every new game still gives players something new to experience.
That balance is what keeps the series evolving. A player should be able to recognise a Coins™ game, but they should never feel they already know exactly how it is going to play before they open it.
The Technology Players Feel Without Noticing
Big Screen Mode and adjustable volatility levels have been part of Wazdan games for a few years. Oliwia Skrzydel picks the part of that technology she thinks players notice without realising it. For more on playing on a phone, see our Mobile Slots hub.
Wazdan's tech - Big Screen Mode, adjustable volatility levels - has been around for a few years now. Is there a piece of it you think doesn't get talked about enough relative to how much players actually notice it?
I would also point to adjustable volatility. Different players look for different experiences, and giving them more control over the style of play can make a game feel more personal.
For us, the best technology works quietly in the background. You may not stop and think about why the experience feels right - it simply does.

Behind Cointober: Visibility, Brand and Communication
The next two answers go behind the campaign: whether Cointober is mainly about new-release visibility or recognition of the Coins™ brand, and how a month of communication avoids audience fatigue.
Is Cointober primarily designed to increase visibility around new releases, or is it also intended to strengthen recognition of the Coins series as a product brand in its own right?
Cointober gives us a great way to introduce new Coins™ releases, but it also shows how much the series has grown since 2022.
With more than 30 standalone titles, Coins™ now has a clear identity of its own. Players can recognise certain elements that connect the games, but there is still a lot of variety between individual releases.
That is important to us. We want Coins™ to be a name players recognise, but not one where they feel they already know exactly what they are going to get. The excitement should still come from discovering what makes each new game different.
With a campaign running for more than a month, there is always a risk of audience fatigue around a single theme. How do you plan the communication to keep Cointober feeling fresh throughout the campaign?
Cointober may have one overall theme, but the games themselves give us plenty of different stories to tell. We can focus on a new release one day, a feature or mechanic another day, and then move on to something completely different within the same series.
We also do not want to reveal everything at once. Part of the fun of a month-long campaign is creating different moments throughout it and giving each new title its own time in the spotlight.
So rather than repeating the same message for a month, we see Cointober as a sequence of different releases and surprises connected by one recognisable idea.
Seasonal Drop and the Road to 2027
The last two questions look ahead to the next network-wide Seasonal Drop promotion and to Wazdan's plans for 2027.
With the next network-wide Seasonal Drop promotion approaching, how is Wazdan building on the learnings from previous network campaigns, and what can operators expect to be different this time?
Every network promotion teaches us more about what keeps players engaged from beginning to end.
That is something we continue to refine with every edition — the pacing, the structure and the overall player experience.
For the next Seasonal Drop, we are building on what worked in previous campaigns while looking for ways to make the experience even more engaging and accessible. The aim is simple: create another promotion that is easy to join, exciting to follow and gives players an extra reason to enjoy the games they are already playing.
Looking past Cointober, what should players and operators expect from Wazdan heading into 2027?
We will continue developing some of the series people already know, but there will also be new concepts, different themes and fresh gameplay ideas. We do not want every release to feel like a variation of the previous one.
We are also continuing to develop the features around the games themselves, including promotional tools and network campaigns that can add another layer of excitement beyond an individual title.
So heading into 2027, the focus is really on giving players more reasons to come back: familiar favourites evolving further, new ideas entering the portfolio and more ways to interact with our games.
