Inside this PG Soft review

Golden mahjong tiles. A tiger that fills the whole screen. A lucky cat waving over six reels. Millions of players know these games by sight, yet few could say who makes them or whether the studio holds a real license. This PG Soft review answers both questions with data we checked ourselves.
Three things set it apart. Instead of trusting the logos on its site, we looked the studio up in the Malta Gaming Authority register. The RTP, volatility and max win for 191 slots come straight from its own catalog. And there's a section on the fake PG Soft games that spread in Brazil - plus the tool built to fight them. This content is for readers aged 21+.
A mobile-first studio from Valletta
Valletta, 2015. That's where Pocket Games Soft, now known simply as PG Soft, was founded. Its first games appeared at ICE London in 2017 and went live at the end of that year. The pace has only picked up since: 57 new slots have launched since January 2024, roughly two a month.
Most studios of that era built games for desktop and squeezed them onto phones later. This one did it the other way around. In an upcoming GamblerID interview, Managing Director Ken Zhang explained what designing for the phone first really involves.
Awards followed. At SiGMA's Euro-Med event in 2025 the studio was named Best Slot Provider, and the South Asia jury handed it the same title. Brazil tells a similar story - through 2025, PG Soft and Pragmatic Play games took turns at No. 1 in the weekly rankings of the regulated market.
PG Soft licenses and testing: what we checked
Logos are easy to copy. Register entries aren't. So we went to the source. The MGA register lists Pocket Games Software Limited - the legal name behind PG Soft - under license MGA/B2B/435/2017, a supplier license for casino games. When our team looked on 28 October 2026, it said Licensed.

What about the UK? A few reviews claim a Gambling Commission license, but searching the public register for "PG Soft" and for "Pocket Games" brought up nothing, so we left it out. Same story with the Gibraltar logo on the studio's site. We couldn't match it to any register entry or license number.
Testing is the easier part to confirm. Before a game goes live, BMM Testlabs or Gaming Associates certifies it, checking the random number generator and the math that produces the RTP. In our interview, Ken Zhang also drew a hard line on AI.
So is PG Soft legit? On the evidence we could verify, yes. A live MGA supplier license and two independent test labs stand behind the games. The casino you play at needs a license of its own, though, and that part is on you to check.
PG Soft RTP, volatility and max win across 191 slots

There's no published average RTP, so we worked it out. The PG Soft catalog holds about 200 titles. Strip out blackjack, baccarat and the Hi-Lo games, and 191 slots remain. Every one of them lists a single RTP on its official page.

The return per spin hasn't moved much in recent years. The ceiling has. Lucky Neko and Treasures of Aztec let a win run to 100,000x the bet. Most PG Soft slots from 2024-2026 stop at 5,000x or 10,000x instead. Inferno Mayhem holds the highest new ceiling at 25,000x. The PG Soft jackpot versions, sold as Mythical Treasure Jackpot, are a separate case with RTPs of 95.06-95.96%.
With so many games in one RTP band, the PG Soft payout numbers are most useful against other studios, and the Best RTP Slots list makes that comparison quick. One habit pays off with any of them: open the info screen at the casino and make sure the RTP there is the one on the official page.
PG Soft bonus features that repeat across the catalog
Golden frames. Climbing multipliers. A row of symbols that runs sideways above the grid. Learn these once and most PG Soft slots start to look familiar, because the studio keeps mixing the same few pieces.
Wilds-on-the-Way
A symbol in a golden frame becomes a Wild after it takes part in a win, ready for the next cascade. Lucky Neko and Treasures of Aztec are built around it, and Dreams of Macau goes one step further by making those Wilds sticky.
Golden tiles that turn Wild
Think of it as the Mahjong take on framed Wilds. A gold tile that's part of a win flips into a Wild. During free spins in Mahjong Ways 2, everything on reel 3 except Wild and Scatter turns gold - and Wild Bandito pulls the same trick with gold framed symbols.
A multiplier that grows during a chain
Every win in a cascade chain nudges the multiplier up. PG Soft free spins make the jumps bigger. In Mahjong Ways and its sequel the bonus multiplier tops out at x10, and Wild Bandito simply adds 1 for each winning cascade.
The extra reel on top
Look above reels 2 to 5 in Lucky Neko, Treasures of Aztec or Dreams of Macau and you'll see a horizontal reel. It's the reason those games reach 32,400 ways to win - and it gives framed symbols more places to land.
The Fortune series
Small 3-reel games, big audiences. Each title in the series, from Fortune Mouse to Fortune Rabbit, has a random feature that takes over the reels. Fortune Ox keeps respinning until something pays. The tiger respins for as long as new symbols keep dropping in. Fill the whole screen with a win in either one and it pays x10. The rabbit plays differently: 8 fortune spins where nothing but prize symbols (up to 500x) can land.
Five PG Soft slots that never leave the top lists

A new PG Soft game lands roughly every two weeks. These five are older - 2020 to 2022 - and they still turn up in rankings and review picks.

№1. Mahjong Ways
The one most players think of first. On a 5-reel, 4-row grid of mahjong tiles, the golden ones turn into Wilds when they win. Land three Scatters for 12 free spins (each extra Scatter adds 2 more), and the multiplier can climb to x10. It's the title Ken Zhang chose as his personal favorite, and he explained why it worked.
Start here if you've never played a PG Soft slot.
№2. Mahjong Ways 2
Same tiles, bigger ceiling: 100,000x instead of 25,000x. The difference shows up in the bonus. Every symbol on reel 3 turns golden, and any golden symbol in a win becomes a Wild, so a good free spins round can keep feeding itself. Liked the first game but want more swing? This is the step up - and it's still medium volatility.
№3. Fortune Tiger
Brazilian players call it "Jogo do Tigrinho," and it became one of the most talked-about slots in the country. On paper it's tiny: 3 reels, 3 rows, a x2,500 cap. The pull comes from one feature. At random, the tiger triggers respins that keep going while new symbols land, and a full screen of winning symbols pays x10. Short sessions on a phone are exactly what it was built for.
№4. Lucky Neko
Here the cat does the work. Every time a cat symbol lands, the win multiplier climbs, and Wilds-on-the-Way keep the cascades going. Four Scatters start at least 10 free spins. With a 100,000x ceiling on a medium-volatility game, Lucky Neko is a fair pick for players who want big upside without the harsh swings of high-volatility slots.
№5. Treasures of Aztec
The multiplier here climbs in the base game too, not only in free spins, which is rarer than it sounds. On the 6-reel grid, framed symbols become Wilds. Four Scatters open 10 free spins. It's been a fixture of review picks since 2020, and the 100,000x cap puts it level with the biggest PG Soft classics.
Fake PG Soft games and how to spot the real ones
Fortune Tiger's fame in Brazil had a downside. Illegal sites started offering cloned versions of the game, and players had no simple way to tell a copy from the original. In June 2026 the studio answered with a check built into the casino lobby: the player enters the Transaction ID of a round, presses Verify and sees whether it came from the genuine game.
Ken Zhang listed this among the studio's priorities for the next few years.
Three habits keep the risk low. First, stick to licensed casinos - in Brazil that means sites on the .bet.br domain. Then open the game's info screen. For Fortune Tiger it should show 96.81% and a x2,500 max win, the same as the official page. And if the lobby offers the PG Soft verification check, run one round through it before a bigger deposit.
Play PG Soft slots free on any phone
You can play PG Soft slots free on GamblerID with no account and no deposit: open a title from the catalog and press Play Demo. The PG Soft demo runs the same math as the real-money version, so it's the safest place to see how fast a multiplier climbs. Free Slots on the site cover hundreds more titles for side-by-side tests.
A phone is the natural place to try them. The games run in HTML5 on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS, and Dreams of Macau, for example, is a 16.2 MB download. Layouts were drawn for a touchscreen from the start, so the PG Soft mobile version isn't a shrunken desktop game. If you mostly play on the go, the wider Mobile Slots list is worth a look too.

Platincasino and Rooster Bet share the top score of 8.5. Platincasino has run since 2013, while Rooster Bet is the newest of the five and the only one with three licenses. At €1, BitStarz and 1xBet have the lowest entry point for testing PG Soft real money play on a small budget. CosmicSlot is the one to pick if clear daily limits matter to you.

Tips that fit PG Soft mechanics
Most of the catalog is medium volatility, and that's kind to a mid-sized bankroll. Don't assume it, though. Half of the 67 high-volatility titles arrived after 2023, so a stake that lasts on Mahjong Ways can burn out much faster on a 2026 release.
Look at the ceiling as well. Fortune Tiger tops out at 2,500x and leans on smaller, steadier wins. Lucky Neko saves its 100,000x for the rare long cascade.
Our verdict
A clear identity is what puts PG Soft among the bigger slot studios. The games are drawn for a phone. The mechanics repeat, which makes them quick to learn, and the average RTP sits at 96.58% across 190 slots. Add a current MGA license and a real effort against cloned games, and the case is strong.
Two things keep the score in check. We found no UK license in the register, and new PG Soft slots cap wins far lower than the 100,000x classics. Start with Mahjong Ways or Lucky Neko in the free demo, then compare them with other Best Online Slots and Slot Providers on GamblerID before you play for real money.
