Shaolin Master Slot Review
This game is a nice pick if you are keen on playing originally designed contemporary video slots. But its topmost pro is an opportunity to take advantage of tremendously sized win multipliers up to x9,999. Also, thanks to the Avalanche mechanic, this slot allows several prizes per spin, let alone two bonus games and the maximum win of x10,000. Shaolin Master Bonus Features
Cluster Pays
There are no pay lines in this slot, as wins are awarded for each cluster consisting of at least five identical paying symbols touching each other.
Avalanche feature
Any prize combo credits a corresponding win and disappears, allowing new paying symbols to make it onto the play grid. The cascades are still going while wins emerge on the playfield. Thanks to that, several wins per spin are possible to get.
Chi Orbs
These are Wilds coming with a multiplier. There are 3 kinds of Chi Orbs.
Blue Chi Orb
Its initial multiplier is x1, but this value increases by +1 each time the Blue Chi Orb becomes a part of a winning cluster.
Red Chi Orb
This special symbol appears with the 1x initial multiplier, too. However, its figure grows +1 for each picture, including a Chi Orb, in the prize combo the Chi Orb partakes in.
Balance Chi Orb
This symbol lands only during cascades and has a multiplier that is the product of the multipliers of each Chi Orb currently on the screen. If it becomes a part of a winning combo, the Balance Chi Orb vanishes with other prize cluster symbols after crediting the reward.
Red and blue Chi Orbs are on the play grid while there are still cascades. Multiplier values of several Chi Orbs that participate in the same prize combo are multiplied before applying. Once the current round ends, each Chi Orb is removed from the playfield.
Scatter
Several scatters that land at once start a bonus mini-game—the Student or the Master one.
The Student
This feature is initiated by the landing of 3-4 Scatters:
Scatters |
Free Spins (FS) |
3 |
10 |
4 |
12 |
During the FS round, under every reel, a multiplier is located. Initially, their values are x1. However, each winning combination increases the multipliers of those reels on which the prize cluster symbols appear. Each winning symbol adds +1 to the multipliers of the corresponding reels it appears on.
Green Gem Multiplier
On top of that, any reel multiplier can be increased by the Green Gem Multiplier (x2-x10) that multiplies the multiplier of the reel it hits by a corresponding value.
Green Chi Orb
Reel multipliers are global, meaning their values are applied to all wins on the screen. However, the Green Chi Orb must first activate these. During this mode, each Green Chi Orb emerges without a multiplier attached but enables the multiplier of the reel it hits. Already currently activated reel multipliers are summarized before multiplying a win. The maximum threshold for each reel multiplier is x9,999.
Extra Free Spins
Each time the reel multiplier is enabled, 3 extra Free Spins are added. Consequently, the maximum number of extra Free Spins allowed is 15.
The Master
It's a Re-Spin mini-game offering 3 re-spins. Instead of ordinary symbols, there are stone blocks in use. Each round takes one life, but every Gem symbol or Ice block resets the number of lives to the initial value (3).
There are multipliers above each reel that initially are x1. Their figures can be increased by special modifier blocks carrying a value that can multiply the multiplier or be added to it. Some modifiers influence a multiplier above the reel they landed at, whereas others change all multipliers without exclusion. The maximum reel multiplier threshold reaches x9,999.
Adding multipliers are Blue Gem (x2-x10) and Epic Blue Gem (x2-x10). Multiplying multipliers are Green Gem (x2-x10) and Epic Green Gem (x2-x10).
Ice blocks initiate multiplier blocks to appear. The latter carry values equal to the current multiplier figure of the corresponding reel. When the bonus game ends, figures of all Multiplier blocks are summarized, and the resulting prize is credited to the balance.
Crusher Block
This stone block crushes all the blocks on its way down the reel, including multiplier ones. Upon reaching the bottom row, the Crusher block would accumulate a value summarizing multipliers from destroyed Multiplier blocks. When the Crusher block emerges, the re-spin meter refills to 3.
Buy Bonus options
There are three features available to purchase:
- The ‘Bonushunt Featurespins’ feature increases the odds of a bonus game triggering five times. While this feature is enabled, a player pays three times more (x3). Yet, winnings will be counted as if the stake is still x1.
- The ‘Student’ activates the corresponding bonus FS game (x100).
- The ‘Master’ triggers the Re-Spin mini-game (x200).
Our Experience Playing Shaolin Master
We tested this game by playing it with real money, depositing €200. The stake was established at the €1 level. Note that this was a slot with an RTP of 96.31%.
The 1st hundred spins brought us 47 wins, varying from €0.1 to €45.6. We have got two large prizes—€45.6 and €28.6. The biggest multiplier was x26. The bonus game didn't activate. As a result, after the 100th spin, we had €213.4.
Thanks to the student feature activating, the 2nd hundred spins finally triggered long-awaited Free Spins. Thanks to these, we earned €93.1. Also, we had 39 ordinary wins, from €0.1 to €28.6. So, upon the 2nd hundred spins, we possessed €261.9.
The 3rd hundred spins activated the most generous bonus function — the Master one. The Re-Spin mini-game gave us €263. The number of regular cash prizes was 45 (€0/1—€37.4). After all 300 spins were out, we had as much as €513.3. Hence, we earned €313.3.

As you can see, prizes were frequent enough, and as a result, the longest gap between consecutive wins totaled just five spins for a whole gaming session. Moreover, Chi Orb symbols allow bigger wins with each following cascade, thanks to the steadily growing multipliers. On the other hand, bonus mini-games aren’t that often triggered. Fortunately, that is easily compensated by their high generosity.
Shaolin Master Verdict
The most remarkable specialty of this slot is its innovative gameplay based on constantly growing multipliers. That severely boosts the chances of getting a huge prize during the main or bonus game. On top of that, there are as many as two bonus games proposing Free Spins and re-spins, and both are potentially even more generous than the base game. Unfortunately, the frequency of their activation isn’t that high. Also, beware that the RTP of this slot ranges from 96.31% to 92.31%. Other serious drawbacks we didn’t find. Overall, it’s a delightful in-appearance game that pleases players with frequent cash prizes, some of which reach big sizes, especially if you get lucky enough to trigger a bonus game. So, in our opinion, this game is worth your trying.
