Narcos Slot Review
On 23 May 2019, NetEnt released this exciting slot for all the fans of the popular Netflix show Narcos. Right off the bat, you can see amazing graphics and visuals that remind us of Grand Theft Auto games.
This slot provides us with five reels, three rows, and 243 paylines and the betting range is from 0.2EUR to 400EUR. The game is available on all popular platforms. One of the exciting features of this game is the Drive-by which is activated randomly during the main game. The Drive-by feature will transform some of the high-value symbols into Wild symbols. RTP in this slot is 96.23% which gives a 3.77% advantage to the casino. Also, pay attention that this is a game with medium volatility which makes it more universal. The potential for a win is not that high however you can get paid decently from time to time while playing this game. Initially, this game was designed for the fans of Narcos in mind but anybody can play and enjoy this slot.
Narcos by NetEnt Video Review
Narcos Bonus Features
As you could guess, the reels are filled with symbols related to the popular Netflix show. You need to get from 3 to 5 symbols in order to get a winning combination. Wild symbols, Agent Steven Murphy and Agent Javier Peña pay the most. The blonde in red and the cartel member pay a little bit less. The Pink Flamingo and The Plane pay up to 6x. The cards pay the least. Bonus / Freespins frequency is low - 0.28%(1 in 351 spins). Hit frequency, in my opinion, is quite low too – 26,7% but I guess it can be compensated with the Free Spin and the Drive-by features.
Narcos comes with two different bonus functions and also with the Free Spin feature. The main attraction of this slot, in my opinion, is the Drive-by function which happens during the main game. As you see a cartel member drive by and shoot frantically at the reels, you don’t need to be scared, rejoice because those bullets turn high-value symbols into wilds.
The Locked Up
Function will be activated when you get three or more Locked Up symbols in a row. During the three free spins that follow, only the Locked Up or Golden Locked Up symbols will appear on the reels. Every time a new Locked Up or Golden Locked Up symbol forms a winning cluster or adds to an existing one during a spin, the number of spins remaining is reset to three. One of the following features in the Locked Up feature is unlocked when a Golden Locked Up is linked to a winning cluster:
1. Multiplier: x2 or x3 is applied to all values in the cluster.
2. Upgraded symbols - During this feature, different upgrade values can be applied to symbols that are a part of the same cluster as the Golden Locked Up symbol in increments of 1 times the total stake. For each time the feature is active, this upgrade may occur 7–15 times.
3. Big starting value - The Golden Locked Up symbol receives an additional value as a starting value.
Free Spins
At least three car symbols must appear on reels 1, 3, and 5 to trigger the Free Spins feature. You will receive 10 free spins with walking wilds after getting 3 or more cars. If you have Walking Wilds but no remaining Free Spins, you will receive one Free Spin for each Walking Wild until no more are available.
Narcos Slot Verdict
The main part of the game was not giving us a lot of winning combinations and the Drive-by features were triggered only a couple of times. The most interesting part started when I got 3 cars that trigger the Free Spin bonus round when the police barricaded a nightclub and prepared for a shootout. The reels were under fire which was great for us because we were getting wild symbols with those bullets. It brought us more money and some extra free spins in addition. The bonus round brought us around 95x of our bet which left us satisfied. At some point, we got 3 Locked Up symbols but the results did not meet our expectations, we only got around 15x of our bet.
After making around 200 1EUR bets I wasn’t able to see how NetEnt could make this game better. All right, I am a Narcos fan, you got me, but try it yourself and maybe it will make you watch Narcos after all. Amazing graphics and visuals, exciting soundtrack, what could we ask more?
